Commercial Damages
An updated and revised Chapter 22 of Commercial Damages (New York: Matthew Bender) was published in 2007: "Measuring Lost Profits Damages" by Drs. Pat Gaughan and Michael Brookshire. Dr. Brookshire has co-authored this chapter since Commercial Damages first appeared in 1986. Dr. Gaughan is also the author of a leading text on lost profits damages.
Research on the specific application of commercial damages calculations in eminent domain litigation was introduced in a paper presented by Mr. Barrett at the annual conference of the Southern Economic Association in 2002.
Dr. Brookshire and Mr. Barrett are involved in an array of diverse commercial damages cases each year. The last chapters of Dr. Brookshire's 1987 and 1990 books are devoted to this topic.
