* Personal Injury and Wrongful Death Damages
Dr. Brookshire published in 1987 the first book written by an economist on this topic Economic Damages: the Handbook for Plaintiff and Defense Attorneys. A follow-up book for trial attorneys and damages experts was published in 1990. In Spring 2007, Dr. Brookshire joined with Drs. Frank Slesnick and Jack Ward to tri-edit The Plaintiff and Defense Attorney’s Guide for Understanding Economic Damages. This book was published by the Lawyers and Judges Cooperative Publishing Company. A CD sold with the book adds detailed sources and data, including sample testimony segments, to the easy-to-read chapters. The editors are three of the first five presidents of the National Association of Forensic Economics and have more than 90 years of combined experience in forensic economics. Each of the editors also authored or co-authored several chapters, and the chapter on "Punitive Damages" was co-authored by George Barrett and Mike Brookshire. Below are the titles and authors of this 17-chapter book, which focuses upon damages in personal injury and wrongful death cases:
